Seeking a Technical Assistance Outreach Specialist

MSU CRFS seeks an outreach specialist to support equitable business and technical assistance efforts for food and farm entrepreneurs.

The Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems (CRFS) is hiring a full-time outreach specialist to lead efforts through partnerships across the state of Michigan on food and farm entrepreneurship. This role includes conducting outreach and working one-on-one with entrepreneurs, with particular focus on supporting Black, Indigenous and entrepreneurs of color. 

The Specialist will work towards the goal of creating a strong, equitable, and sustainable networked food ecosystem in partnership with local and regional organizations across the state of Michigan and within MSU. This position will support CRFS’ existing strong foundation of food systems partnerships, programs, and relationships, while shaping our work and reputation into the future.  

This position is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, energetic, outreach-minded, resourceful and committed candidate to implement their skills working with Michigan’s food and farm entrepreneurs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with agriculture/food enterprises and a proven ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholder groups, as well as experience in network-building and group facilitation. Salary range is commensurate with experience: $55,000-$60,000 plus MSU’s benefit package.
