Sell your business products to over 20,000 Michigan businesses

Pure Michigan Business Connect is a statewide “buy local” program connecting sellers with buyers to help grow the Michigan economy.

Pure Michigan Business Connect (PMBC) is a free web-based tool available to promote local companies’ goods and services. Michigan State University Extension partner, Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA) works closely with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation( MEDC) to provide information and feedback in the development and training of this tool designed to promote and generate more business in Michigan.

Created and managed by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, this site is very robust and offers the platform for companies throughout the entire state of Michigan to buy and sell from each other. In addition, there are links to various programs and services as well as business to business events and suppliers summits.

To activate an account, an individual company simply has to log on, complete the contact info, enter in key search words and you are good to go. Local communities can aid in the process by promoting the websites to their local companies and host “sign up events” with computers and volunteers available to assist with the process.

The NLEA is hosting a PMCB luncheon workshop on February 27, 2015 to train businesses on the capabilities and services of the website. Representatives from MEDC will be onsite to review the website along with NLEA staff to assist in helping companies set up their account. Learn more about the workshop online, or call the NLEA at 231-582-6482.

Michigan State University Extension has had a unique relationship with the regional economic development organization Northern Lakes Economic Alliance (NLEA) for more than 20 years. Recognizing the strength of combining resources, this partnership focuses on economic development, entrepreneurship growth and community infrastructure throughout a four-county region in the northwest Lower Peninsula, specifically Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet counties. As a result, the NLEA utilizes resources offered through MSU Extension as it provides leadership to state-wide programs sponsored by MSU Extension.
