Soil Health and Soil Physics, a Food for Thought

We should build our soil so good that the microbes would love staying and flourishing in it

Dr. Poulamee Chakraborty from Kravchenko Lab, Michigan State University along with her colleague Dr. Navdeep Singh from Washington State University organized an interesting session for the ASA CSA SSSA International Annual Meeting, 2022. The two- and half-hour session discussed how soil physics plays an eminent role in dictating the present and future of soil health. The session attracted six speakers from all over the world to discuss their experiments and observations that helped them to understand the underlying soil physical processes in soil Carbon sequestration and soil microbial abundance. The key message of the session was “We should build our soil so good that the microbes would love staying and flourishing in it”.
