Southwest in-season grape meetings set with first meeting on April 25

Optimize canopy coverage and ensure that expensive crop protection chemicals are not wasted in your vineyard with the information you will learn at this workshop.

Growers looking to obtain optimum spray coverage in their vineyards this season will benefit from the April 25 in-field calibration workshop at Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center (SWMREC).

Ensure that expensive crop protection chemicals are not wasted by learning how to properly calibrate your sprayer, make adjustments for early season canopy coverage, and select the best nozzles for your sprayer type. Learn about low-cost fixes for airblast sprayers to improve coverage. See comparisons of canopy coverage using different sprayer types with fluorescent dye and UV lights. Featured presenters are Mark Ledebuhr, Application Insight, LLC, and John Stone, MSU Pesticide Safety Education Program.

This meeting has been approved for 4 RUP recertification credits. Partial sponsorship for this workshop has been provided by The National Grape Cooperative and The Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council. Register by sending the registration form with $25 per person to the Berrien County MSU Extension office at 1737 Hillandale Rd., Benton Harbor, Mich. Supper is included in the registration fee.
