SPDC and NCI are looking for a new Communications Coordinator

The School of Planning, Design and Construction is looking for an energetic, engaged and hard-working individual, who can work both independently and as a team member, to provide communications support to the School and the National Charrette Institute. This position is critical to our student recruitment, outreach and stakeholder engagement, fundraising capacity, and overall positive reputation.

This position is responsible for creating and managing website content, digital and print communications, developing a marketing plan and editorial calendar, developing and updating branding material, coordinating social media content, monitoring news and media relations for the School of Planning, Design and Construction and the National Charrette Institute (NCI). In addition, this position ensures that SPDC and NCI materials are ADA compliant, co-chairs the SPDC Lecture Series committee, organizes SPDC events, promotes our Graduate Certificate Program, manages Diversity, Equity and Inclusion communications, develops promotional materials for SPDC fundraising, and other duties as assigned.

The Communications Coordinator is central to SPDC's mission to advance the knowledge, prepare innovative leaders, and support the practice of planning, design, and construction.

The School of Planning, Design, and Construction unites four academic programs related to the built environment: Construction Management, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Urban and Regional Planning, with 43 faculty and academic specialists, and 8 staff members. The School offers 8 degree pathways from Bachelors to Ph.D. – including 5 professionally accredited degrees with over 350 undergraduate and 50 graduate students. The School is jointly administered by the Colleges of Agriculture & Natural Resources and Social Science.
