SPDC welcomes New Assistant Professor, Haoyue Yang, to the Landscape Architecture Program

The School of Planning, Design and Construction welcomes Haoyue Yang as an assistant professor to the Landscape Architecture program.

The School of Planning, Design and Construction welcomes Haoyue Yang as an assistant professor in the Landscape Architecture program.

Yang received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Northeast Forestry University in China, and her Master of Landscape Architecture and Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Science from Texas A&M University, where she also earned Certificates in Health Systems and Design and Sustainable Urbanism.

Her research lies at the intersection of community sustainability, physical and social well-being, and geospatial analytics, with a particular focus on how the built environment influences loneliness, social interaction, and social networks. Her work aims to inform policies and design interventions that strengthen social infrastructure. Yang has contributed to interdisciplinary projects on urban social connectedness, intergenerational community design, active living, healthy aging, healthcare, and long-term care facility environments. Her work has been presented at numerous conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals.
