Tour projects at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center

Join Michigan State University for an afternoon tour of the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center projects on Aug. 15, 2017, in Benton Harbor.

The Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center Project Tour on Aug. 15, 2017, is your opportunity to view a wide array of plantings and projects at Michigan State University’s Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center, 1791 Hillandale Rd, Benton Harbor, MI 49022.

The station tour will include presentations by MSU faculty and staff on vegetables, tree fruit, brambles and blueberries for commercial and backyard growers, consultants and fruit industry representatives. Topics will cover varieties, rootstock, training systems, cultural management, disease and insect management, and high tunnel production.

Presentations will begin at 1 p.m. and conclude at 4:30 p.m. with light refreshments. A display of peach and nectarine varieties and experimental selections from the MSU breeding program will be on hand for viewing and tasting.

There is no cost to attend, but please register in advance so we can plan for the crowd size.
