Over 50 greenhouse/nursery employers representing about 4,500 workers attended two meetings last month on learning how to properly fill out the I-9 Form when hiring workers.

As you have heard, Immigration and Customs Enforcement is targeting agricultural employers this year for I-9 audits. I suggest you review the Handbook for Employers which contains instructions for completing the I-9 Form. Also be sure you have the latest version of the form (Rev.08/07/09). www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-9.pdf

Results from the meetings we held indicated that most attendees increased their knowledge on this issue by 22 percent which means no one had all the answers correct on the questions we asked attendees at the start of the program!

How's your I-9 knowledge, could you pass an ICE audit?
