Using the 2025 Michigan Apple Cost of Production Study
MSU Extension is holding a webinar to assist you in applying the results to your farm’s numbers.
Are you an apple grower, or wondering what average costs are for Michigan growers? Join us at 12 p.m. on November 13, 2025 for a one-hour review of the 2025 Michigan Apple Cost of Production study conducted this year by MSU Extension.
During the webinar, we will cover the main results of the study and review the establishment, production, and harvest costs found for Michigan orchards. The report includes information on high-density and semidwarf training systems. It also assesses both high-value (Honeycrisp) and mid-value (Gala, Fuji, other fresh apples) categories of apple production.
We will explain how to use the tables to assess breakeven prices and per bushel costs for different yields. We will also present on how to adjust the study’s results to your specific farm’s numbers by walking through calculations for different farm scenarios.
This webinar is part of the Farm Policy & Risk Management series. Please register for the live webinar. This webinar will be recorded and posted on the MSU Extension website so it can be accessed anytime.
