Vincent Ostrom, founding director of the Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis based at Indiana University and the Arthur F. Bentley Professor Emeritus of Political Science, died Friday. He was 92. His wife, Elinor Ostrom, the first woman to win the Nobel Prize in Economic Science, died June 12.

It’s hard to believe they are both gone, but somehow it’s fitting that they both died in the same month," said Michael D. McGinnis, director of The Vincent and Elinor Ostrom Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis at IU. "They were a great team, for a long, long time."

Indiana Universtiy announced a memorial service for the Ostroms Monday, Oct. 15, in the IU Auditorium. Additional information, including time and program, will be posted on the Indiana University websites as it becomes available.
