Virtual pest and field crop management updates for 2021
The in-person field crop meetings offered each winter by MSU Extension have moved to online delivery for 2021.
Michigan State University Extension is offering regional winter field crop meetings as online Zoom webinars this year due to safety concerns related to the current pandemic. Topics presented by MSU faculty and specialists will provide valuable, research-based information on crop production and pest management. Agendas will vary for each regional meeting based on cropping systems and regional issues of importance.
You may register for one or more meetings. Registration is required and the fee is $15 and includes a new copy of the 2021 Michigan Weed Control Guide for Field Crops. Multiple registrations will require a fee for each meeting, but only one weed control guide will be included. Registration and agenda details for each regional meeting are available at Virtual Pest and Crop Management Update 2021.
Regional meeting dates and times:
- Central Michigan – Thursday, Jan. 7, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
- Thumb A – Wednesday, Jan. 13, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
- Thumb B – Tuesday, Feb. 2, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
- Upper Peninsula/northern Michigan – Friday, Jan. 15, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
- Southeast Michigan – Tuesday, Jan. 26, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
- Southwest Michigan – Friday, Jan. 29, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. EST
Attendees will certainly miss the interaction with other farmers, industry and MSU people, but the quality of information presented will be as good as ever, and you can attend from the comfort of your own home or office without the need for any mid-winter travel.
The 2021 MSU Weed Guide will be mailed after your event. You should receive the 2021 MSU Weed Guide in two to three weeks, compliments of Michigan Wheat, Michigan Corn and the Michigan Soybean Promotion Committee.
Three RUP Credits and CCA CEU’s will be available for each meeting.
