West Michigan summer nursery tour August 17, 2011

Container and field stock nursery growers are invited to tour research and demonstration plots at three Ottawa County nurseries, where MSU and Ohio State University researchers and educators will also discuss a wide range of timely topics.

On August 17, 2011, MSU Extension will be sponsoring a day-long nursery tour in Ottawa County that will focus on research and demonstration plots at three nurseries. The tour begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. at Berry Family Nursery, 16127 Winans St., Grand Haven, Mich. Stops will include two locations at Berry Family Nursery, West Olive Nursery and two locations at Northland Farms, Inc.  A bus will take tour participants to all the stops that day.

Dennis Fulbright from MSU’s Plant Pathology Department and Hannah Mathers from Ohio State’s Horticulture and Crop Sciences Department will be discussing their latest research findings for nursery growers.

A complementary lunch, courtesy of Syngenta Crop Protection, will also be included for tour participants. You must register by Monday, August 15, to participate. Details are included on the attached flier.
