Why the Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update should be on your winter meeting calendar
Check out these top five reasons to attend the MSU Extension Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update on December 19, 2025.
The Michigan State University Extension field crops team will host the 2025 Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19 at the STEM Teaching Facility, 642 Red Cedar Rd, East Lansing, MI 48824. This annual meeting will feature the latest updates for crop and pest recommendations and on-farm research results.
Here are the top five reasons why the Integrated Crop and Pest Management Update should be on your winter meeting list.
- Gain research guided insights for the 2026 season. Program participants will receive the most recent recommendations from Michigan State University (MSU) Extension for potential weed, insect and disease problems, agronomy innovations and emerging issues in 2026. These recommendations are based on field research conducted by MSU specialists.
- Informed of timely purchasing decisions. The program is offered just in time for businesses and farmers to make their year-end bulk purchasing decisions based on demand and availability. The timing of bulk purchases can have tax implications.
- Get the updated “2026 Weed Control Guide.” Participants will receive a hard copy of the 2026 Weed Control Guide (Bulletin E434).
- Earn credits. Participants will receive five restricted use pesticide credits and 5.5 certified crop adviser (0.5 NM, 0.5 SW, 3.5 PM, 1 CM) credits, and a MAEAP Phase 1 credit for attending this event.
- Attend online or in-person. Where else can you receive the latest university field crops research results with the flexibility of attending in-person for important networking opportunities or from the comfort of your own home without the snowy drive time? Group registration for virtual participants is also available for businesses interested in hosting their own virtual screening of the event for their employees.
- Bonus! Sharpen or learn new skills. In-person participants will have the opportunity to attend a water management breakout session led by the MSU drainage and irrigation teams to learn how to use new irrigation scheduling and drainage planning tools.
The registration fee is $75 per person if you attend in person and pre-register by Dec 12. For in-person attendees who register after Dec. 12, the cost will be $85. Online attendees must be registered by Dec. 17, and the cost is $45. In person registration includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
