4-H Scholarships, Recognition and Awards

OCEANA COUNTY 4-H YOUTH COUNCIL
The Oceana County 4-H Youth Council is the governing body of the local 4-H program.  They oversee all of the other committees.  The 2026 Youth Council Officers are:

ADULT YEAR END VOLUNTEER SERVICE AWARDS:

SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • Oceana County Competitive Youth Scholarship 2025/2026 -  The Oceana County 4-H Competitive Scholarship will be awarded to highly qualified candidates.  This scholarship is to assist Oceana 4-Hers seek further education beyond the secondary level. Please see the following application for complete qualifications and application process.  This scholarship is due by February 6, 2026.
  •  The Community Foundation for Oceana County Bert Stevens Memorial Scholarship - The Bert Stevens Memorial Scholarship has been created to present scholarship awards to current members of the Oceana County 4-H Program who are graduating seniors and have 4 years of high school membership in 4-H.  The application is due by March 1st.  For more information please visit https://oceanafoundation.org/scholarships/
  • Michigan 4-H Rabbit/Cavy Scholarship.  For information visit: Michigan 4-H Rabbit/Cavy Application Packet
  • Michigan State University 4-H Scholarship.  Award amount: $2,500 annually for four consecutive years of full-time study at MSU. A minimum of four scholarships are given annually.
    Who can apply:
     4-H members who are high school seniors must apply to MSU and submit the MSU 4-H Scholarship Application by November 1 of their senior year. Applicants must meet the standard admissions requirements of the university and be accepted to MSU.

  • Michigan State University Pre-College Program ScholarshipAward amount: $2,000 applied toward the student’s first year at MSU as a degree-seeking student. Scholarship recipients are not guaranteed admission to MSU and must meet admission requirements upon submitting the MSU application as an incoming undergraduate.
    Who can apply: Students in 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade following their MSU pre-college program involvement (such as 4-H Exploration Days, 4-H Great Lakes & Natural Resources Camp, 4-H Veterinary Science Camp, World Food Prize or 4-H Capitol Experience). AMBASSADORS:

Oceana County 4-H Ambassador Application 2021-2022- Representing Oceana County 4-H as a 4-H Ambassador is an honor which is the result of outstanding achievement, involvement and interested in 4-H.  You will represent 4-H at many events throughout the year.  You must be 13 on or before August 1st and have completed 2 calendar years of club work by August 31st of the current year.
