Biography:

Alyssa Harben has a PhD and MS in Packaging from Michigan State University’s School of Packaging, and a BS in Business Administration from California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo. Outside of academia, she has experience working at GreenBlue as a staff member for the Sustainable Packaging Coalition and conducting market research. She also has experience with student support having worked at American University in a dual teaching/academic advising role. 

Current Research: 

Alyssa Harben’s current research focus is scholarship of teaching and learning and the intersection between human behavior and packaging design. Specific areas of interest within packaging include: consumer behavior with packaged products, objective evaluation of labels on consumer goods, disposal instruction labeling, sustainability related on-pack labeling, and packaging history.
