Research Interests

My current research focuses on investigating the soil pore network and fate of plant-assimilated carbon inputs in soil with contrasting bioenergy cropping systems. I apply a multidisciplinary approach by combining X-ray tomography to characterize soil pore geometry and root growth, and Stable Isotope Labelling method to track carbon in the system. In general, my research interest is to understand how soil pores affect spatial distribution and activity of the microbial community in soil at microscale.
