Originally from Buffalo, NY, Christina played Division I college basketball and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Comparative Politics and Economics at Hofstra University in Long Island, NY. She also completed an MBA in Finance at Hofstra and worked for several years as a structured products and bonds valuation analyst at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in NYC. To pursue her interests in international development, Christina joined the Peace Corps and spent 27 months as a community economic development advisor in Senegal, West Africa. Upon her return in 2018, Christina started in AFRE’s PhD program. Now in her third year, her research in sub-Saharan Africa focuses on soil fertility management and sustainable intensification.
In addition to finance and economics, Christina is an avid cyclist, loves to cook and bake (and eat!), and enjoys learning new languages.
