Christián Henry is a doctoral student in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on lignin-based polyurethane foams for industrial applications. She currently serves as the National Graduate Student Parliamentarian for Minorities in Agriculture Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS). Before this, Christián worked as an undergraduate researcher on lignin-based phenolic adhesives and was part of the team that created the first phenol-formaldehyde adhesive that replaced 100% of phenol with lignin. She obtained her bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology and business from Mississippi State University in 2016. Christián has received numerous grants and accolades including an academic achievement graduate assistantship, a Farm Credit VIP Scholar award, and a COGS disciplinary leadership award.
