Emma Strong is a second year Masters student studying Michigan's local grass-fed beef value chain focusing on barriers to a successful market and value chain relationships. Generally, she is interested in the convergence of community development and local/regional food systems. In her free time, Emma plays the cello, loves spending time outdoors and listening to music, is a practitioner of yoga, a photographer, and a gardener. After completing her degree, Emma plans to return to her roots in Pittsburgh to pursue a job in the non-profit sector focusing on improving and enhancing the regional food system in southwestern Pennsylvania.
