Ming is originally from Jiujiang, a small city in southern China alongside the Yangtze River. He joined the AFRE Ph.D. program in the fall of 2018. Before joining MSU, he received his Master’s degree in Economics from Central University of Finance and Economics, Beijing, and Bachelor’s degrees in Mathematics and Economics from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Chengdu.

Currently, Ming is working with Dr. Songqing Jin and his research focuses on a range of issues in development economics including rural employment, agricultural production, poverty, education, etc. In his leisure time, he enjoys writing songs, skateboarding, and participating in a lot of sporting activities such as basketball, badminton, soccer, and tennis.
