Glenda Weiss
Glenda Weiss is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H program coordinator in Ingham County and serves as the 4-H rabbit and cavy program point person.
She has worked in the program coordinator capacity since April, 2014, serving 3 years in Wayne County prior to moving to Ingham County.
As a program coordinator, Glenda provides leadership and management of local 4-H programs, volunteers, and youth participants in Ingham County. She promotes and strengthens the Ingham County 4-H program by developing programs and partnerships, promoting and evaluating 4-H programs, and recruiting and training volunteers. Glenda is also the liaison from the state Michigan 4-H office helps to ensure that statewide opportunities and information is available to local participants.
Glenda also serves as the 4-H rabbit and cavy program point person. In this position she leads the volunteers and youth who serve on the state 4-H rabbit and cavy program committee. She promotes and strengthens the 4-H rabbit and cavy project areas by offering the state 4-H show and expo as well as many workshops around the state.
Prior to joining MSU Exentsion, Glenda taught in the public school system for 29 years at the junior and senior high school levels. Subjects taught included vocational agriculture, science and computers.
Glenda holds Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in Agribusiness and Natural Resources Education with a minor in Physical Science. She also has numerous credits beyond her bachelors.
Glenda is an alumni of the Ingham County 4-H program participating in the rabbit, dairy, food preparation, and arts and craft project areas. She has volunteered in Lapeer County 4-H since 1997, forming and leading her own club as well as serving as a 4-H fair superintendent.
