Haiyan Cen
Haiyan Cen is a ZJU-100 Young Professor with College of Biosystems Engineering and Food Science at Zhejiang University. She joined Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Michigan State University as an adjunct associate professor in 2018. Her research focuses on developing advanced optical sensing and automation technologies for agricultural and biological systems. She aims embed smart technologies into agricultural production and management.
Research
Cen's main research areas include:
- Fundamental understanding of light interaction with plant materials.
- Plant phenotyping with hyperspectral/fluorescence/stereo imaging and multi-sensor fusion technique.
- Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) remote sensing in agriculture.
- Agricultural robotics for specialty crop production.
- Machine learning and statistical modeling for assessing plant growth and health.
