Background:

Janice is studying for a Ph.D. in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University (MSU). She earned a B.S. from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point, followed by a Master's of Fisheries and Wildlife degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia. She is primarily interested in understanding human impacts on fish populations so to implement aquatic restoration actions. Janice's dissertation work examines neurobehavior impacts on larval fish species due to PCB and mercury sublethal exposure. Results will be used to determine Adverse Outcome Pathways that can be mitigated for by managers. In addition to MSU colleagues, Janice will be working closely with researchers from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and the U.S. Army Engineering Research and Development Center, Vicksburg, MS.
