Jill serves MSU Extension and Schoolcraft County in a split role that has her managing and growing the local 4-H program as well as delivering nutrition and physical activity education in group settings in the community.
Jill grew up in her county's 4-H program, starting with one bunny and expanding her projects to include rabbits, market chickens, market turkeys, market hogs, dairy goats, public speaking, crafts, civic engagement and several leadership roles in her club and county program.
Before joining MSU Extension in 2016, Jill attended Northern Michigan University (Go 'CATS!) where she worked as a student assistant to the manager of Public Radio 90 and was an active member of the Pride of the North Marching Band. She earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Entrepreneurship and a minor in Music. Jill spent a number of years substitute teaching and being the chief home officer until the family settled in Manistique and was hired for the newly reopened MSU Extension office. In 2019, she earned her Master of Arts degree in Family and Community Services from MSU through the Great Plains IDEA program.
