Background:

Joe is a Master's student in the Boone and Crockett Wildlife Conservation Program. His research focuses on understanding the environmental and social governance drivers of income from hunting and photographic tourism to Namibia’s communal conservancies. Joe is the Managing Editor of Conservation Frontlines, a wildlife news and communications platform partnered with Michigan State University’s Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Joe lives in Washington, D.C. where he works as International Policy and Public Affairs Specialist for Jamma International and previously as Conservation Manager for Safari Club International Foundation. He received a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Tulane University, with minors in Environmental Science and Spanish. He also serves as a Research Fellow at the African Wildlife Economy Institute, and as a member of the IUCN’s Sustainable Use & Livelihoods Specialist Group and The Wildlife Society’s International Wildlife Management Working Group, among other professional roles.
