Community Food Systems Educator
Kaitlin Koch Wojciak serves as a Community Food Systems educator in southeastern Michigan, focusing on local institutional purchasing, local food policy councils, farmers markets and food systems education for youth and adults. She offers regional assistance to growers looking to sell to institutions and institutions who aim to increase their local purchasing efforts by providing research, resources, special event planning and support. On the state level, Wojciak serves on the Michigan Farm to Institution’s Tech-Ed team, developing marketing and sourcing resources for Michigan products and trainings to address the needs of institutional purchasing stakeholders. In Macomb County, Wojciak works with the Macomb Food Collaborative to provide food systems education and local food business development resources.She has worked at the state-level with the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems, coordinating Michigan’s FoodCorps service program, and with the Greening of Detroit, supporting the development of school garden education and the urban agriculture community. She holds a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from University of Michigan and an M.S. in Community Sustainability from Michigan State University.
