Marcus received his Bachelor's degree from Stillman College in Piano Performance and holds a Master of Education: Postsecondary Leadership. He has also earned a Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Postsecondary Education from Michigan State University and is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Higher Education Administration  at Central Michigan University.

Marcus will be advising undergraduate students in the Construction Management and Urban and Regional Planning programs. He will also be active in Student Advisory Council SPDC Undergraduate Clubs as well as the Faculty Advisory Michigan State University Gospel Choir. In doing so, Marcus will draw from 10 years of experience in higher education including instruction, advising, success coaching, coordinating, recruiting, and retention.
