Background:

I have been at Michigan State University (MSU) for 19 years. Prior to coming to MSU, I was the Aquarium Curator at the North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island, Outer Banks, NC and Elasmobranch and Coral Reef biologist at The Florida Aquarium, Tampa, FL. I also lived in San Juan, Puerto Rico, directed sea turtle and marine mammal stranding teams, established otter and bird of prey training programs, and served on the NC Dive Safety Board. I am a SCUBA rescue diver and have logged over 5,000 saltwater dives.
