Elizabeth Mkandawire
Elizabeth Mkandawire is a PhD candidate in the Department of Rural Development Planning at the University of Pretoria. Her PhD focuses on gender mainstreaming in food security and nutrition policy. She has a Masters degree in Sociology with specific focus on gender studies. Her research interests are in gender, particularly men’s involvement in maternal and child health, policy studies and food security and nutrition.
Elizabeth assists with the project management for the FSP Innovation Lab at the University of Pretoria. She is also involved in components 1, 2 and 3. In component 3, she has focused on integrating gender in nutrition policy with a specific attention to men’s involvement in maternal and child health.
