Vicki Morrone
Vicki has been an organic field crop and vegetable outreach specialist at Michigan State University since 2002. As a member of the MSU Center for Regional Food Systems, she is the “go to” person to provide farmers and educators with assistance with all aspects of organic production, certification - even those just beginning to farm. An important piece to organic production is soil. Morrone can assist with questions on soil health and how to build healthy soil. She came to this position with a variety of technical and research experiences in organic and sustainable agriculture with a focus in integrated pest management, cover crop use, soil building, and compost use. She has served farmers across the globe, from Niger and Malawi in Africa to Central California, Pennsylvania and Michigan in the US. Vicki holds a Master of Science degree in Plant Pathology and Extension.
