Nikita graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Research Technician in the Mass Spectrometry shared resources at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory for almost 3 years. She is currently a PhD student with dual majors in Food Science and the Food Toxicology and Ingredient Safety Track of the EITS doctoral program. Her research focuses on exposure characteristics and some biomarkers reflective of immunological health status and birth outcomes in highly aflatoxin-exposed populations in Nigeria controlling for maternal nutrition and socioeconomic status.
