Robin McGuire
Dr. Robin McGuire is the resident Extension Science Educator at MSU St. Andrews in Midland Michigan. In a former life Robin taught biology and other sciences at higher ed institutions across the state (Um-Flint, MSU, SVSU, MCC, OCC and Lansing Community College), and also working in the DEI space to increase access to STEM fields, and working with K-12 teachers, providing STEM training to both pre and in service teachers. Now working with 4-H and MSU Extension to provide STEM out of school and educator PD, she is increasing her impact by programming to engage youth at the critical middle school period when youth traditionally opt “in or out” of STEM careers.
STEM pillars at MSU St. Andrews include coding and robotics, food security, biotechnology bootcamp, astronomy and flight, engineering challenges, science and engineering fair participation, alternative energy and other science on demand. The St. Andrews mission is to serve as a community hub of STEM outreach and education, ensuring that all citizens in Midland and the surrounding counties have the opportunity to engage in science, engineering and technology.
