Background:

Samantha grew up on Lake Lansing in Haslett, MI and has had a fascination with aquatic life ever since she was little. Her passion is to work in aquatic habitat conservation and reconstruction. She has previously worked with the collection of larval lake sturgeon at the Ann Arbor USGS.  Samantha got her B.S. in Biology from Western Michigan University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. Her thesis will focus on bio-controls, specifically using native fish species to help manage the invasion of Red Swamp Crayfish in Michigan. In her spare time Samantha enjoys watching nature documentaries, live music, traveling the world, hanging out with friends and trying new craft beers.
