Dr. Claire Koelsch Sand is a technical and educational leader with over 25 years of experience across the food science and packaging spectrum. Her experience ranges from basic research, development, market research to marketing with Total Quality Marketing, Gerber, Pillsbury, Kraft Foods, Dominick’s, and research institutes in Germany, Colombia, and Thailand. This broad range of experience provides insights into packaging’s multifaceted role.
Since 1996, her company, Packaging Technology and Research, has helped clients achieve diverse technical and strategic goals.
Claire is author of the Packaging Value Chain and numerous book chapters and articles. She serves on the Packaging Science and Technology Editorial Board, as a Journal of Food Science Reviewer and as a member of the IFT Food Packaging Division Executive Board. She also serves the food science honorary society Phi Tau Sigma as a Strategic Relations committee member, and as a city Human Rights Commissioner.
Claire is President of Packaging Technology and Research, an Adjunct Professor at Michigan State University, and a consultant on international development projects.
