Sarah Griffin is a Michigan State University Extension 4-H Program Coordinator in Lapeer County. She has served in this role since November 2021.

In her role as 4-H Program Coordinator, Sarah provides leadership and management of local 4-H programs, volunteers, and youth participants in Lapeer County. She promotes and strengthens the Lapeer County 4-H program by developing programs and partnerships, promoting and evaluating 4-H programs, and recruiting and training volunteers. Sarah is also the liaison from the state Michigan 4-H office, helping to ensure that statewide opportunities and information is available to local participants.

Prior to starting the 4-H Program Coordinator role, Sarah served as the 4-H Fundraiser Coordinator in Lapeer County since May 2017.  She originally joined MSU Extension in 2012 as a Health and Nutrition Program Instructor.

Sarah holds a Master of Public Administration degree in Non-profit Administration and Social Entrepreneurship and a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health with a minor in Health Education and behavior, both from the University of Michigan-Flint.  She also holds an Associate of Applied Sciences – Social Work Technician and an Associate of Arts degrees from C.S. Mott Community College. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) and a registered Social Service Technician.

Sarah grew up attending 4-H Summer Camp in Lapeer County and was a member of the K-9 and Kompany 4-H club in Macomb County in High School. She became a 4-H Volunteer in 2013 serving roles on the Auction and Camp Committees and as a Club Leader and Photography Superintendent in Lapeer County.
