Dr. Sammi received his B.S. from M.L.N. College, Yamuna Nagar (Kurukshetra University). He obtained his master’s degree in Biotechnology from S.B.S.P.G.I. Dehradun (H.N.B. Garhwal University), and then went to Central Drug Research Institute Lucknow (Jawaharlal Nehru University) for his PhD in Life Science. Post PhD, Dr. Sammi briefly worked at the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Lucknow. He did his postdoctoral training with Dr. Jason R. Cannon at Purdue University.  His hobbies include motorcycle riding, woodworking, and cooking.

The focus of Sammi's lab is to a) identify mechanistic aspects underlying PFOS neurotoxicity, b) gain insights into the role of mitochondria in PFOS-led neurotoxicity, and c) evaluate emerging PFAS for common mechanism/mechanistic endpoints.

This project aims to identify key mechanistic targets with potential for intervention, and common mechanisms amongst other PFAS.
