Talynn Akermann serves as the Michigan State University Extension 4‑H Program Coordinator for Gladwin County, a position she has held since January 2022. 

In her capacity as a 4-H Program Coordinator, Talynn provides strategic leadership and management for local 4-H programs, overseeing volunteers and youth participants in Gladwin County. She is dedicated to enhancing the 4-H program by developing initiatives, fostering partnerships, promoting and evaluating programs, and recruiting and training volunteers. Additionally, Talynn acts as a liaison with the Michigan 4-H state office, ensuring that local participants are informed about statewide opportunities and resources. Talynn's involvement in 4-H began as a member in Livingston County where she brought swine and sheep, as well as still exhibits, to the Fowlerville Family Fair for ten years.

Prior to becoming the 4-H Program Coordinator for Gladwin County, Talynn served as an AmeriCorps member for the Michigan State University Extension Community, Food, and Environment institute where she taught natural resources and water conservation programming to elementary aged youth. 

Talynn graduated from Fowlerville High School before attending Saginaw Valley State University and receiving her Bachelor of Science (BS) in biology in May of 2020. Additionally, Talynn has earned her Master of Science (MS) in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Clemson University in December 2022. Her education brings an enthusiasm for STEM and Natural Resources which she brings to Gladwin County.
