Thomas Keene joined the PhD Program at MSU AFRE in the fall of 2019, specializing in Regional Development. Currently, Thomas works with Dr. Loveridge on several projects focused on the US opioid epidemic and the Digital Divide. Thomas attended Loyola University Chicago (LUC) under the Ignatian Full Tuition Merit Scholarship, where he earned a BA in Economics and Music: Jazz Studies. At LUC, he was awarded the Economics Department Key, given to two outstanding graduating seniors in Economics annually. Before attending MSU, Thomas was a Research Analyst for an economic consulting firm focused primarily on securities litigation, intellectual property disputes, and antitrust law. In his spare time, he enjoys playing Jazz and practicing Judo.
