With the help of the Michigan State University Summer Research Opportunities Program (SROP), Zaire first worked with the Center for Regional Food Systems in 2019 as the Good Food Policy Intern. During her time there, she conducted research to discover what policy issues, challenges, and opportunities statewide food and farm organizations had in creating a "Good Food" system in Michigan.
Now as a Data Manager, she manages data collection, maintenance, analysis and reporting for CRFS's farm to institution efforts, including the Michigan Farm to Institution Network and Michigan Farm to School.
Zaire graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology. She is a young and motivated individual who is passionate about food sovereignty, self-determination, and political activism within the U.S. food system.
