Abstract: Emergy analysis method was used to convert the renewable resources, non-renewable resources, renewable resource products, input emergy, money flow, waste stream and so on within the ecological and economic system of Hanzhong city to the unified solar energy value through emergy conversion rate, and then the green GDPs of Hanzhong city during 2005-2014 were calculated and analyzed. The results showed that: from 2005 to 2014, in Hanzhong city, the emergy-currency ratio declined fluctuantly, the economic level increased continuously, while the green GDP rose slowly and circuitously, and the proportion of green GDP in the traditional GDP was relatively small and revealed a downward trend, indicating that the economic development of Hanzhong city is unreasonable and at the cost of resource consumption as well as environmental pollution and degradation. In order to sufficiently exert the advantages of local resources in Hanzhong city, and build a good circular economic development system, it is recommended to build the recycling industrial system, develop the local characteristic industries, develop rural information industry, and exploit ecological tourism.
