Organizationally:
Co-founder of M.E.D.U. Detroit specializing in public art and community projects. Michigan ArtShare – MSU Extension, consultant; Program Director and Exhibit Curator. Served on the Arts and Cultural Alliance of Jackson County Board (ACAJC) (Vice Chair & Public Art). Chaired the Jackson 2020 Strategic Planning “Arts, Culture and Recreation strand” and coordinated MCACA’s Mini-grant Program, Region 16, 3yrs. Director of Education at the Ella Sharp Museum for 23+ years, directed diverse programs, community events. Ultimately served as Assistant Executive Director and Interim Executive Director.
Artistically:
Amy is a mixed-media paper artist and earned a BFA from Alma College. Amy’s art utilizes a variety of two-dimensional mixed media techniques featuring handmade paper, collage/assemblage, printmaking, drawing media and acrylic painting. She creates Devine Feminine style portraits and narrative works reflecting archetypal themes. She created in a series of works called “Gifts from the Shadow” and a series of fanciful paper dolls called “Kindred Spirits.” Her work is exhibited across lower Michigan and on social media.
