Exotic Animals

Segment: 4. Domestic Animal Reproduction, Standard: Explain the variety and scope of managed animal systems in the United States and around the world including: livestock, poultry, aquaculture, companion animals, zoo animals, and exotic animals. (Pathway I.A.1)

Description

This includes any unique (including common domestic animals such as the ferret and the fancy rat) animal that is considered an exotic pet. "Exotic" often refers to a species that is not native or indigenous to the owner's locale, and "pet" is a companion animal living with people.
