Local Food Interest by Institutions in Southeast Michigan: A Report for Eastern Market Corporation

A 2012 survey of institutions in southeast Michigan, around Detroit, gathered information on their interest in purchasing food locally.  It also examined the motivations for and barriers to doing so, to inform future outreach and education activities in the area.  The survey was conducted with assistance from Eastern Market Corporation, the Food System Economic Partnership and the Ecology Center, all stakeholders in the development of Farm to Institution programs in the Detroit metro area.
