GREEN means GO—Animal Check-in Checklist

GREEN means go! Use this checklist to evaluation the condition of animals before they come off the trailer and enter the barn at fairs. If you can answer YES to each of these areas, animals can go into the barn. 

G General Appearance—Skin/Body Condition/Behavior 

Is the animal free from skin lesions, ring worm, or other skin conditions? Is the animal in adequate body condition for public exhibition? Is the animal exhibiting normal locomotion, body posture, and vocalization? 

R Respiratory Rate and Temperature 

Is the animal exhibiting a normal breathing rate? Is the animals temperature in a normal range? 

E Eyes 

Is the animal free from any unusual or discolored eye drainage? Are they clear and bright? 

E Ear/Head Position 

Are the animals’ ears and head in a natural position? 

N Nasal Discharge 

Is the animal free from nasal discharge of any kind?
