Supplier Diversity Programs for Institutions: Michigan Farm to Institution Network Virtual Network Meeting

February 8, 2022 - Sarah Chartier, Jim Cross, Dakarai Howard, Marlie Wilson, <bielacz1@msu.edu>, Abby Harper, <mborgm@msu.edu>

Inclusive, local sourcing from a diverse set of suppliers is a key strategy to ensure an institution’s food spending drives economic growth, including in their home community.

This first MFIN Virtual Network Meeting of 2022 focused on supplier diversity programs for institutional food procurement. Learn what these programs are all about as well ideas, resources, and tools from our guest speakers.

Presenters from Spectrum Health System and the Chicago Food Policy Action Council shared examples and resources to help institutional food service staff develop and implement their own supplier diversity programs.

The MSU Center for Regional Food Systems supported this meeting through a grant from the Kresge Foundation.
