Application Deadline: December 19, 2019
Dr. David Dilley was a faculty member in the Department of Horticulture at Michigan State University from 1960 to 2004, with a research and teaching focus in postharvest physiology. He was the recipient of many awards over the course of his career, including the Distinguished Graduate Teaching Award from the American Society for Horticultural Science, the MSU Distinguished Faculty Award, the Michigan State Horticultural Society Distinguished Service award, and the Fruit Man of the Year Award.
The David and Marion Dilley Endowed Scholarship and Research Fund was established to support scholarships, including recruiting scholarships and working scholarships, for undergraduate and graduate students in the Dept. of Horticulture. From this fund, the David and Marion Dilley Mentoring Scholarship was developed. This scholarship provides funding for graduate students in the MSU Dept. of Horticulture to recruit and mentor an undergraduate student for a one-semester research experience. Applicants are strongly encouraged to recruit undergraduate students from the Dept. of Horticulture for these mentoring experiences.
