  • Conservation Stewards Program

    Conservation Stewards Program participants learn about the history of conservation activities in Michigan, ecological principles, ecoregional classifications, and the choices that manage our natural resources. In addition to this foundation, participants learn about terrestrial ecosystems (forestlands and grasslands) and aquatic ecosystems (wetlands, lakes and streams) through classroom and in-field instruction.

    This interactive self-guided course using Nearpod will explore: dreams versus goals, types of goals, why goal setting is important, S.M.A.R.T. goals and give you an opportunity to practice.

  • Food Preservation

    The online Home Food Preservation course will help home food preservers avoid dangerous, life-threatening contamination of foods. Individuals will feel confident in processing their produce and feeding their families safe, healthy foods. Home food preservation stimulates the local economy by encouraging locally grown and purchased foods and for individuals and families to grow their own gardens.

  • Paying for Post-secondary Education

    As many adults will tell you there are a variety of costs associated with attending any type of post-secondary education. There are many ways to fund post-secondary education or any training after high school. We encourage exploring funding options to minimize debt.

  • Pesticide Applicator Training

    This course is designed for those who are studying to take the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) Restricted Use Pesticide (RUP)Exam or for those who need a refresher on safe pesticide handling. The course material follows the National Pesticide Core Manual. Those who complete the course can receive 12 RUP credits.
