Retention/Attrition

The Interior Design Program has limited enrollment for upper division and admits up to 20 students in their junior year. *Note: Limited enrollment was reduced from 40 students to 20 students in 2013. Pre-major MSU Interior Design students must pass the Second-Year Portfolio Review to be admitted into the third year of the ID Program.

2019
  • Second-Year Review: 26 students submitted Second-Year Portfolios for review. 20 were accepted into their third year.
  • 100% of students admitted into upper division in the spring of 2019 returned in the fall of 2019, putting the attrition rate at 0%.
2018
  • Second-Year Review: 28 students submitted Second-Year Portfolios for review. 20 were accepted into their third year.
  • 95% of students admitted into upper division in the spring of 2018 returned in the fall of 2018, putting the attrition rate at 5%.
2017
  • Second-Year Review: 36 students submitted Second-Year Portfolios for review. 20 were accepted into their third year.
  • 100% of students admitted into upperdivision in the spring of 2017 returned in the fall of 2017, putting the attrition rate at 0%.
