STUDENTS - Spartans showing resilience

To say that the COVID-19 pandemic impacted our students equally across the board wouldn’t acknowledge all the different places and spaces from which they come. With students from many different states, cities and countries, we knew one thing to be true – this would be harder on some than others.
Our advisers, faculty members and chairs went work, asking students if they had the internet connections they needed for online classes, the software, the chargers – no request seemed too small. Faculty members and advisers had heart-to-heart conversations with students about whether home was a healthy place for them to be. And, people like Dorcia Chasion sent texts, made phone calls and eventually would take meal tickets to students who were having difficulty making ends meet.
Ultimately, our students and faculty showed resilience because they are indeed Spartans.
