Scholarship Application

In addition to recognition and feedback, participants may apply for up to $1,000 in post-secondary education scholarships, thanks to the Michigan State Fair Foundation and supported by the Bowman Family.

Eligibility 

  • Michigan youth ages 8–19 (as of January 1, 2026) 
  • Must submit at least one project in the Michigan State Fair 4-H & Youth Virtual Showcase 
  • Only one scholarship per exhibitor per year through the Michigan State Fair in-person event or the Michigan State Fair 4-H and Youth Virtual Showcase 
  • Eligible participants will receive a direct email link to apply 
  • A practice application is available to preview questions 
  • Application deadline: August 10, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. EST 

Fund Usage

Funds may be used toward: 

  • Two- or four-year colleges/universities 
  • Trade schools 
  • Certifications or credential programs 
  • Apprenticeships 
  • Other post-secondary education pathways that support youth  

Notification & Recognition 

  • Recipients notified by September 2, 2026 
  • Awards presented at the Michigan State Fair in Novi on September 7, 2026
